Three Municipal Councils Pass Resolutions Supporting Coal Industry

Jun 2, 2015

Following recent presentations to their municipals councils by the Coal Alliance, the towns of Cranbrook, Fernie and Sparwood have each passed resolutions in support of BC’s coal industry.

The resolutions recognize the importance of the coal industry in providing employment and generating revenues to pay for public services across the province, as well as the role it plays in the production of steel for a wide range of applications.

These public statements of support for the industry from communities actively engaged in mining send a powerful message that coal remains vital to the economy in British Columbia.
